Alive and Safe , Thousands Need Prayer

First, I want to thank God for protecting us through the tornadoes this afternoon. Georgia and I were running errands today and the weather changed pretty quickly. I turned the radio on and the reports were that a tornado was headed toward our part of town. The traffic was horrible and we were within 10 minutes of the first touchdown. God let us get home but as soon as we did the storm hit. We had so much hail and the wind was horrible. I took a few pictures and thought I would share them with you. When we went outside after the worst had passed us our hair stood straight up! Also, we saw many funnel clouds from our front porch but those did not touch down.

Please pray for our city. So much damage. Millions of dollars in damage. A 9 week old and her mom were killed. A mother and son were killed and many more injured. The devastation is unreal. All the stores around us are closed. Many w/out electricity and many are now coming home from work who will find out their home is gone. They need prayer. This serves as a reminder how precious life is and how quickly it can be gone.

Just got a call from a siesta and heard about your town. Oh my! Praying for you to be His Hands to so many. I was jogging (slowly
!) around our apt. complex and just ran up to the leasing office to tell them how much I loved living in this apartment having cancer cause it's so quiet and a respite (unbelieveable cause we are surrounded with college students)and they were clueless! I think of so many people you will show the immeasurable LOVE of the God Who so pours out of you! Psalm 50:2 CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR PRAYING FOR ME...WAS SO TOUCHED BY YOUR WORDS!

Patty,
So worried about you all today. Tornado destroyed Mom and Dad's neighborhood. They have lots of damage, but they are safe. Houses two doors down are completely gone. So blessed to be safe, with a roof over their head and alive.
We are in Chattanooga. Staying the night at Dad's orders, but coming home tomorrow to help with clean up. Mom said it is a war zone in their neighborhood.
Love,
Dori

So glad you are all right. I just heard on our local news about the mother and infant who were killed. So sad. I pray many will be touched, comforted, and restored during this Easter weekend in spite of, and even more, because of, what happened today. How can anyone see the power of a storm and not realize the awesomeness of our God?

God bless you!

Patty - my friend - Praise God for your safety (and Georgia's too). I am so sorry for the devastation in your town. I pray that the glory of Easter and the promise and hope of the Resurrection will minister to those families who suffered loss. Life is precious indeed and the Word tell us that "life is but a vapor that appears for a little time, then vanishes away." James 4:14

Much love - take care,
Jan
