Book Tour ....Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World

It's time for another blog/book tour and this is a re-release of Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World. Could this be more perfect for all us busy women out there? It is so easy to get so busy with life and it seems at times the first thing that suffers is our relationship with Christ, our quiet time. I have done it so many times and my day goes better if I have first spent time with God. I always say even if you only have 5 minutes for quiet time, do it!!! I can see myself in both Mary and Martha. I can be having my quiet time with God and a million distractions enter my mind or the phone rings or I get interrupted by someone in the home. I have this picture in my mind as I am typing this, me praying to God and all of a sudden I remember I really need to clean the kitchen and start the dishwasher and I say, excuse me Jesus, I will be right back, I have cleaning to do. Have mercy on all of us. :o)

Joanna's book has given us gentle reminders of the importance of finding intimate moments with God in our very busy lives. If you haven't read this book please do yourself a favor and do so!!

From the Publisher:
About Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World:An invitation for every woman who’s ever felt she isn’t godly enough, isn’t loving enough, isn’t doing enough. The life of a woman today isn’t really all that different from that of Mary and Martha in theNew Testament. Like Mary, you long to sit at the Lord’s feet…but the daily demands of a busy world just won’t leave you alone. Like Martha, you love Jesus and really want to serve him…yet you struggle with weariness, resentment, and feelings of inadequacy. Then comes Jesus, into the midst of your busy life, to extend the same invitation he issued long ago to the two sisters from Bethany. Tenderly, he invites you to choose “the better part”–a joyful life of intimacy with him that flows naturally into loving service. With her fresh approach to the familiar Bible story, Joanna Weaver shows how all of us–Marys and Marthas alike–can draw closer to our Lord: deepening our devotion, strengthening our service, and doing both with less stress and greater joy.
